Those who fast on all the nine days of Navratri end their fasting process on Maha Navami. Nine forms of Goddess Durga are worshiped by the devotees in Navratri, and on the ninth day Maa Siddhidatri is worshipped. And like Durga Ashtami, Durga Navami is also a special day which holds utmost importance in the festival.
The Sanskrit meaning of Durga roughly translates as ‘inaccessible’. As the name suggests, this festival is dedicated to Goddess Durga who is considered a symbol of power. On this day the devotees will end their fast by performing Havan and worshiping the fast. This year the Mahanavami festival of Shardiya Navratri is being celebrated on 04 October 2022. Maha Navami is the ninth and last day of the nine-day festival of Navratri celebrated annually in October. Maa Siddhidatri form of Maa Durga is worshiped on the day of Mahanavami.
